             2....Roast about 50 grams of Halim , powder it , add it to about one kg of Postpartum laddus.
             3....Take about 25 grams of Halim , roast it , now add to it 25 grams of Badam (Almond) , 25                      grams of Kaju (Cashews) ...grind all...about one tablespoon full of this mixture taken with milk ,                    increases milk production and secretion in lactating mothers.
             4....Powder of roasted Halim can be sprinkled on foods to add to its Nutritional value.... as                          required.
             5....A little can be chewed to get relief in Sore Throat.
             6....A little can be boiled in required quantity of water and applied lukewarm to the affected area ...              in form of poultice to get relief in pain and swelling.
             7...Take 10 grams of Halim , 5 grams of Badi sauf , 5 grams of Ajwain , 5 grams Jira , 5 grams of                Suva seeds , 10 grams of Methi seeds ....roast all......now mix all these with  5 grams of  Kala nimak ,            5 grams of Senda nimak...... grind  it to fine powder........about 2 to 4 teaspoon full of this powder                taken with water at night works as a good Laxative

Beat the heat.....BEL PHAL

Bel phal is very sacred fruit for hindus . This fruit is used to worship Lord Shiva , leaves of Bel phal tree are Trifoliate in shape , that symbolizes Trident of Lord Shiva.
Bel phal is fruit of tree known as Aegle marmelos
Bel phal is also known as Wood apple and in Hindi as Bel phal or Bael phal / Bel pather , in Oriya as Bela , in Telugu as Maredu , in Kannada as Bilva , in Urdu as Siri phal , in Sindhi as Kathori or Kath garo , in Marathi as Kaveeth .
Bel phal is a cool and sweet fruit .
Bel phal is good to beat the heat of hot summer.
Bel phal can be eaten in fresh as well as dried form.
Bel phal is also eaten in sweet pickle form called Bel Murabba.
Bel phal juice is also good to treat summer heat.
Bel phal and its benefits....

1....good for persons suffering from constipation.

1...How to make bel sharbat.....take about 3 to 4 pieces of fresh bel phal , break its outer cover , take out pulp , keep the same aside.
Now take 750 grams of sugar in a  stainless steel or copper vessel...add about 4 cups of water...keep it on stove ...boil it for 5 minutes....now transfer Bel fruit pulp already kept aside ...boil more for 5 to 8 minutes to make good syrup... put off the flame..keep aside .. till it set to room temperature...filter it and transfer the syrup in a clean bottle...ready to serve.....this can be refrigerated ..serve with by mixing bel phal syrup one part and cool water in five to six parts as per taste.
2...take 10 grams of bel phal pulp dried powder and 10 grams of khara shakar ( sugar crystals )...mix it in a mixer by adding a glass of water ...drink it as a cool drink in hot summer ( diabetic patients can drink without khara shakar )
3...cool drink....take 2 pieces of Bel phal...break open it...take out pulp with the help of spoon...soak it for about 2 hours in 4 glasses full of water...sieve and remove seeds ...now add to it one teaspoon of roasted jeera(cumin seeds) , one teaspoon of roasted badi sauf / vadiyadi (aniseed) , one teaspoon of sancher salt / kala nimak (black salt) and sugar as per taste , mix well in a mixer ...serve chilled....this can serve four to five persons.
4...10 to 15 grams of Bel murabba one or two times a day ,  can add to stop loose motions
Bel phal is used in many Ayurvedic and traditional medicines.

HIMEJ .... TERMINALIA CHEBULA

Himej is fruit of  tree known as Terminalia Chebula. Himej also known as Yellow Myrobalan or Chebulic Myrobalan.
In Gujrati it is called Himej . In Marathi it is called Harde.While it is known in Urdu as Harir , in Tamil as Kadukkai , in Hindi as Harad and in Bengali as Haritaki.
It is of two types ...
(1)chhoti harad...unripe/small in size/dried/blackish in color.
(2) peela hard....ripe/mature fruit/dried/ yellowish or greenish in color'
This fruit while in un ripe form , when dried is in blackish color , is called chhoti harad or bal harde , is having good laxative property.

How to use...
1...fry dried chhoti harad in pure ghee or oil , make powder , take half to one teaspoon of powder  with water before going to bed , as laxative to clean bowls.
2...take peela hard 20 grams , Ajwain (bishop's weed) 20 grams , Jeera (cumin  seeds) 20 grams ,sanchar (black salt) 20 grams , vadiyadi (aniseed) 20 grams , sendav(rock salt) 20 grams make powder off all , take one teaspoon of it ,  half hour after meals to improve digestion.
3...take 50 grams yellow myrobalan , 20 grams ajwain (bishop's weed)  , 20 grams suva beej (dill seeds) 20 grams ,  vaividing (embelia ribes/false black pepper) , powder all and take one teaspoon of it , at night with water weekly , it is good carminative. 
4...roast yellow myrobalan , remove its seed , chew a piece of outer skin (after removing seed) . it is a
good expectorant.
5...chew one piece to improve digestion. 
Please note that....
It can not be taken empty stomach.
It is not good to be taken by pregnant woman.
It is not suitable for women with breast feeding babies.
Not to be taken higher than advised doses.

MADHU MEH - DIABETES

Madhu meh or pra meh as commonly known in india is disease in group of metabolic disease.
One is said to suffer from Diabetes , When there are high levels of blood sugar  in his/her blood testing reports.
This is due to.....
       either Pancreas do not produce enough  Insulin
       or cells of body do not respond properly to Insulin produced by Pancreas
Types of Diabetes....
      Type 1....this is due to failure of Pancreas for producing enough Insulin...it is also called Insulin                       dependent Diabetes
      Type 2....this is due to cells of body not properly responding to Insulin...so it is also called Insulin                   resistance Diabetes
      Gestational Diabetes....this is seen in pregnant women with not having any previous diagnosis of Diabetes
 It is advised to control use of rice , potatoes ,excess sugar , fruits that are rich in sweetness.
A few symptoms are....
Frequent Urination
Increased thirst
Increased hunger
burning of soles and palms
blurry vision
wounds taking time to heal
skin itching / infections
Long term untreated or uncontrolled Diabetes may lead to....
      Weakness
      Heart problems
      Kidney problems
      Damages to Eyes
      Foot ulcers
      Numbness due to damage to the nerves of body
Diabetic patient are advised by doctors....
      Check for body hygiene
     To take proper and healthy diet
     Walk for at least 40 minutes daily

While type 1 diabetes is maintained by Insulin injections

.........Gurmar....soak 5 to 6 leaves in a glass of water for 3 to 4 hours...drink that water once or twice daily or take half to one teaspoon of gurmar dry powder daily.. as per your sugar levels
.........Kavasia....soak 2 to 4 pieces or say 5 to 10 grams of kavasia in a glass of water...drink it one or two times daily as required as per sugar levels.
.........Jambul ...eat jambul fruits in its season or take jambul dried powder with water daily as suggested by your doctor
.........Karuchirait soaked in water or dried powder as suggested by doctor
.........Paneer doda (withania  coagulans)...5 to10 soaked overnight in a glass of water...drink that water after smashing and filtering at morning

Alsi is now a days used in many kind of foods , crackers , waffers , oatmeals etc.
Alsi is said to be effective in reducing many heart related problems with other medicines.
Alsi is advised by many doctors because it contains omega 3 fatty acids.
Alsi is also eaten in form of sprouts with a little addition of spices.
Alsi is used with other ayurvedic herbs to prepare Kada (ukala / tea ) for relief from cough and cold.

BEAT THE HEAT - 2....THANDAI

THANDAI...is a natural cool and refreshing drink to beat the summer heat.
It is free from synthetic or chemical colors or essences , free from any artificial flavour.
This cool drink is freely taken during festivals like HOLI and MAHA SHIVRATRI and on  religious or other functions and get togethers.
Ingredients...
1...3 tablespoons khas khas (poppy seeds)
2...3 tablespoons dried skinned kalingar beej (water melon seeds) or kharbooj beej (cantaloupe seeds ) 
3...10 to 15 badam (almonds)
4...1 teaspoon kali mirch (black pepper)
5...1 teaspoon jeera (cumin seeds)
6...1 teaspoon sauf (fennel seeds)
7...10 to 12 ilaichi (cardamom)
8... few strands of kesar (saffron)
9... few dried rose petals (gulab kali)
mix all above ingredients and soak the same in 2 cups of water for about one hour.
now grind it like fine paste.
transfer it in a mixer jar , add one liter of milk(pre boiled)and one cup sugar (more or less as per your taste)..mix it for about 5 minutes.
now it is ready to serve. you can serve it chilled.

BEAT THE HEAT

 Mercury is going up day by day...till monsoon showers...you can beat the summer heat by some simple ayurvedic and home goods.
1......lemon are rich source of vitamin C ....take a glass of drinking water , add juice of one lemon , now add         2 to 3 teaspoon of sugar to it stir well ,drink it as an instant cool drink.
2......soak one tea spoon full fennel seeds (vadiyali or badi sauf) and one teaspoon full cumin seeds                       (jeera)..soak in a glass of water for 3 to 4 hours...add a pinch of black salt powder...filter it....drink it             with or without adding sugar.
3......take a few coriander leaves and one tea spoon jeera...paste it with a little water add a pinch of
        black salt powder..drink it by mixing in a glass of water.
Fullers Earth

                                                                    FULLER'S EARTH
4......take a cup of Multani mitti (fuller's earth) add a table spoon of chandan (sandal) powder.. mix it with             Rose water or normal water to make it smooth like paste ...apply it on your body for 10 to 20 minutes           before bath...clean it while bathing. very cool to beat summer heat and summer rashes.


5......soak one tea spoon of sabja seeds (basil /Tukmaria seeds) with khara shakar (white rock sugar) in a             glass of water for 1 to 2  hours...drink it without filtering..good to control summer heat.                      
                                                               DRIED ROSE PETALS
6......cool Rose syrup....take 750 grams of sugar , add about 4 cups of water , now add 20 grams of dry               rose petals and 5 grams of  green cardamom ....boil well...add half teaspoon of lemon juice...stir well            ..boil it to  make syrup... filter it ..let it cool to room temperature.. transfer it in a bottle...this can be                 taken by mixing one part of it to four / five parts of water as per taste , with or without ice.

7......cool Wala(khus) syrup....750 grams of sugar , 5 grams of cardamom  , 50 grams of  wala(khus)...clean         wala with water.. add 4 cups of water ...boil it ..add one tea spoon of lemon juice..boil well to make             good syrup...filter it...cool to room temperature...transfer to a bottle...any time drink one part of syrup           to 4 or 5 parts of water..with or without ice...very nice and cool summer drink.

DALCHINI

Dalchini is a kind of spice , sweet and savoury ,  commonly used to enhance flavour and taste in many food and bakery products.
It is also known as Cinnamon . In south India it is known as Karuva .
In Gujrat it is called Taj .

It is used......
1.in Aromatic products.
2. as condiment and flavouring agent in cockery and food products .

8.to enhance taste in curries , pulav and biryani .
9.for weight loss... mix a pinch of dalchini powder with lukewarm water and drink it one time daily.
10.for relief from headache...apply a little powder mixed with water on forehead .
11.as a mouth freshener....half teaspoon powder with aglass of normal water and gargle .
12.for relief from cough....a pinch of dalchini powder , a piece of dry ginger , 2 to 3 black pepper and one clove boil in quarter of water , add little honey and take it twice daily.
13. can be applied to skin with honey to cure eczema , ringworm and other skin rashes .
14. to relieve pain from arthrities ....apply a paste of dalchini powder mixed with lukewarm water .

YASHTIMADHU

Yashtimadhu is root of Glycyrrhiza glabra . It is also known as Liquorice ,  Jeshti madh , Mulhathi , Mulethi or simply Meethalakdi in common.

Ashwagandha ..also known Withania Somnifera , Asundha ,Asoda , Asan , Indian Ginseng , Vajigandha is in form of root , used in many ayurvedic and herbal medicines.

Ashwagandha is good to increase breast milk also,to be taken in powder form with satavari powder mix about 2 to 3 grams with lukewarm milk.
take Ashwagandha powder mix with shilajit powder about 1/4 th teaspoon daily in warm cow milk for weakness in patients of diabetes.
Ashwagandha Yamakam (OIL)..is good for massage in gout and arthritis.

HEALTH with AMLA

Amla which is also known as Gooseberry , Awala , Amaliki ,Aula(punjabi) ,Nellika(malayalam) ,Amoliki(bengali) and phyllanthus embilica , is fruit in pale yellow colour , when fresh having rich contents of vitamin C .
Amla fruit is easily available in many parts of the world. Amla is sour in taste , therefore it is eaten mainly by preparing it in salt water with turmeric and spices to make it palatable. It is also eaten with various prepation with sugar and honey.average weight of it is 30 to 60 grams.
Various benefits of  Amla are,
1. cooling and laxative .
2.reduces bad cholesterol
3.antioxidant
4.diuretic
5.decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic patients
6.digestive
7.anti-constipation
8.reduces sun strokes
9.blood purification
10.nourishing hair and scalp

Amla can be eaten in forms of pickles and murrabas with or after food.
Amla is used in form of dried powder or juice in many ayurvedic and unani medicines . Amla is used in many shampoos and hair oils.
Mahrishi charak has mentioned Amla as a rejuvective tonic in charak sanhita.Amla is one of the main content in Triphala chooran , which is cooling and good treatment of constipation.
Amla is also used in chayawanprash .
Amla is used in facial packs with curd , honey ,sandal powder , neem and multani powder.
It is advised to increase health by adding Amla in daily diets.
