BEAT THE HEAT

 Mercury is going up day by day...till monsoon showers...you can beat the summer heat by some simple ayurvedic and home goods.
1......lemon are rich source of vitamin C ....take a glass of drinking water , add juice of one lemon , now add         2 to 3 teaspoon of sugar to it stir well ,drink it as an instant cool drink.
2......soak one tea spoon full fennel seeds (vadiyali or badi sauf) and one teaspoon full cumin seeds                       (jeera)..soak in a glass of water for 3 to 4 hours...add a pinch of black salt powder...filter it....drink it             with or without adding sugar.
3......take a few coriander leaves and one tea spoon jeera...paste it with a little water add a pinch of
        black salt powder..drink it by mixing in a glass of water.
Fullers Earth

4......take a cup of Multani mitti (fuller's earth) add a table spoon of chandan (sandal) powder.. mix it with             Rose water or normal water to make it smooth like paste ...apply it on your body for 10 to 20 minutes           before bath...clean it while bathing. very cool to beat summer heat and summer rashes.


5......soak one tea spoon of sabja seeds (basil /Tukmaria seeds) with khara shakar (white rock sugar) in a             glass of water for 1 to 2  hours...drink it without filtering..good to control summer heat.                      
                                                               DRIED ROSE PETALS
6......cool Rose syrup....take 750 grams of sugar , add about 4 cups of water , now add 20 grams of dry               rose petals and 5 grams of  green cardamom ....boil well...add half teaspoon of lemon juice...stir well            ..boil it to  make syrup... filter it ..let it cool to room temperature.. transfer it in a bottle...this can be                 taken by mixing one part of it to four / five parts of water as per taste , with or without ice.

                                                                             KHUS
7......cool Wala(khus) syrup....750 grams of sugar , 5 grams of cardamom  , 50 grams of  wala(khus)...clean         wala with water.. add 4 cups of water ...boil it ..add one tea spoon of lemon juice..boil well to make             good syrup...filter it...cool to room temperature...transfer to a bottle...any time drink one part of syrup           to 4 or 5 parts of water..with or without ice...very nice and cool summer drink.

HEALTH with AMLA

Amla which is also known as Gooseberry , Awala , Amaliki ,Aula(punjabi) ,Nellika(malayalam) ,Amoliki(bengali) and phyllanthus embilica , is fruit in pale yellow colour , when fresh having rich contents of vitamin C .
Amla fruit is easily available in many parts of the world. Amla is sour in taste , therefore it is eaten mainly by preparing it in salt water with turmeric and spices to make it palatable. It is also eaten with various prepation with sugar and honey.average weight of it is 30 to 60 grams.
Various benefits of  Amla are,
1. cooling and laxative .
2.reduces bad cholesterol
3.antioxidant
4.diuretic
5.decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic patients
6.digestive
7.anti-constipation
8.reduces sun strokes
9.blood purification
10.nourishing hair and scalp
 11. prevents premature greying of hair
12.beneficial in leukorrhea
13.good for mouth ulcers
14.cleanse liver from toxins
 15.increases Hb count in blood etc.
Amla can be eaten in forms of pickles and murrabas with or after food.
Amla is used in form of dried powder or juice in many ayurvedic and unani medicines . Amla is used in many shampoos and hair oils.
Mahrishi charak has mentioned Amla as a rejuvective tonic in charak sanhita.Amla is one of the main content in Triphala chooran , which is cooling and good treatment of constipation.
Amla is also used in chayawanprash .
Amla is used in facial packs with curd , honey ,sandal powder , neem and multani powder.
It is advised to increase health by adding Amla in daily diets.
